WHAT IS - MY FATHER’S HOUSE

My Father's House is a nonprofit Christian organization based in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia dedicated to the lost, programming and advocacy for those who are experiencing homelessness, have a low income, are struggling or lost in life and the undeserved in some other way. The organization was founded in 2006 by Rev. Joseph V. Nitchingham. My Fathers House is associated with Founders Ministries; a ministry committed to historic Southern Baptist principals headquartered at Cape Coral, Florida.

A brief history of Rev. Joseph

Pastor Joseph, as he is often referred to as today, begun his search for God very early in life. This however was done without the proper guidance and contrary to his original objective his search actually caused him to become heavily influenced by the secular or “un-Godly” world instead.

He tried to find God through Yoga and practiced various forms of Yoga; none of which however could lead him to what he was seeking for.

A breakthrough however did take place at the age of 37 when he came across bible believing Christians (whom he strongly believes today was brought by God himself) who showed him the way to Jesus Christ. He then knew deep down in his heart that he had finally found what he'd been looking for.

Two years later he joined a church whose calling is to reach out to drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes and people society would rather forget. Eventually he was asked to head the street work and in September 2001 Pastor Joseph made the decision to serve the Lord full time.

On the 11th of June 2006 Pastor Joseph was given the opportunity to pioneer a ministry; henceforth he started 'My Father’s House'. Pastor Joseph is an ordained minister and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Ministry from Southern Baptist University Theological Seminary; a Baptist Human Rights based seminary meant specifically for those who are ministry pioneers. He is married to Alice Rachel who is also the secretary and worship leader of his Church.

The Church

The objective of the church is to be word based and prayerful with evangelism always in mind.

Most of the members of our congregation are struggling in life due to financial and personal issues. Our aim is to show them a way out of this lifestyle. We teach our congregation how to apply the Word of God in their lives and as such to have a breakthrough.

At present we 13 adults, 6 youths, and 10 children. = 29

Out of this we have 3 adults, 2 youths and 4 children yet to receive Christ into their hearts.

10 children regularly attend our Sunday school. As an external activity we had a trip to Zoo Negara in December 2009. (Please look at our Facebook for further details on this trip)

My Fathers House - Men's Shelter
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.(Romans 12:2)
And all things [are] of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (2 Corinthians 5:18)
It is not our mission that My Fathers House mens shelter merely be a place of shelter and a halfway home for men. Our mission is rehabilitation and reentry into society. Our means for fulfilling this mission is simply quality care giving. Which is why we have made it a point that we will only take in a maximum of fifteen people. Our objective is that we produce good graduates who will not fall back into their old ways but confidently reenter into this competitive society.
We are catering for people who are mentally challenged, the aged, fresh out of prison, alcoholics, drug abusers, troubled youth and the like. We believe that these individuals can be helped with the help of God through our Progressive Transformation Living program which is designed to foster Transformation to those in need through Reconciliation between God, self and Society. Our scripture base is Romans 12:2 and 2 Corinthians 5:18.
The program emphasizes on its “Anti Alienation principle. A principle that strongly opposes alienation between God and self in every aspect of life. The principle promotes progressive reconciliation between God, Self and Society. We recognize that a major problem that many people face is self-denial and to overcome this we emphasize on Self Awareness Programs.

My Fathers House - Children's Home
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few; (Matthew 9:37) At My Fathers House children's home we have made it a point that only twelve children will be taken into our care to insure on our level best with the help of the God that quality care be provided for these Children. Medication, Hygiene, a healthy amount of space in the home, education and love going hand in hand with discipline.
In line with the 5th commandment, i.e., “Honor your Father and Mother.” We have also made it a point to always remind these children that the guardians of the home are not their fathers or mothers. Our objective is to bring inner healing to these children and we in no way desire that they live in any kind of psychological denial. On the other hand, we do however desire to provide parental role models to these children. We believe that these steps that we are taking with the help of God will help these children in their days ahead in this competitive society and even to one day start their own families.
At present we have 3 children in our home. Up to the present we are emphasizing on I) nutrition, II) education and III) psychological development IV) spiritual development.

TOUCH - A Community Service Center
(Our Vision) Out reach to the poor
We have identified an area in Port Dickson where there are a large number of people who are living very much below the poverty line. Some of the children do not go to school and sometimes meals are scarce.
Our objective is:
a) To have a feeding program (lunch) in this area. – Waiting on the Lord
b) To provide counseling to individuals about life and not to abuse it. – At present we are counseling 2 couples where the husbands are alcohol abusers. We are relocating one couple to be near our men’s shelter, near Pastor Joseph and Rachel as the wife is showing depressive signs and the husband is open to the idea of change in his life. They have two young children; the first one is 2 years old and the second is 9 months.
As for the other couple, we are ministering to the wife and her three children but the husband is still living in denial.
c) To help enroll those children who are not going to school.
d) To provide tuition (free if possible).
e) To give adults and children a purpose in life. – All the families we are counseling including 4 children from the Language center are attending church.
Please go to the link below to view some pictures of an outreach that we conducted in the Rantau area.
